According to Ken Waters Book there was a guy by the name of J. Bushell Smith that had some 22 3000 Brass made by Winchester. He was a commercial Handloader.
Do you want to sell them?

I got the magnifying glass out and the headstamp is  J.B. SMITH   -R2-

I am not particularily attached to them. I figured I would find out about them before going to the Baltimore Gun Show in March.

Anybody still making them? Any idea what they are worth?

They don't make the J. B. Smith 22 3000 Brass anymore. If the Brass is new it should bring $50.00+ a box.

I got some of the JB Smith brass When I bought the worlds uglyist varmiter. Both Griffen & Howe and J.B. Smith had headstamped R2 brass made up. The Smith is the raerer of the two. I sold them off at a dollar a piece 20 years ago.

40_rod, Thank you for the reply.I have a 2 boxes of Winchester 219 Zipper. When I look at the brown paper boxes they are the same style. I would tend to believe that Win. did produce them( as suggested by r3727) or they bought their boxes at the same place(lol).

Both the 22 3000 Griffin Howe Brass & the 22 3000 Smith Brass were made by Winchester according to Ken Waters Book.

Hi,
Thanks to everyone that has responded. I can't seem to get the PM to work for me on this end. I have a number of cartridge boxes from all fields(22,shotgun,etc) that I want to sell. My intentions are to research and sell them as a single lot to a cartrige dealer. There is a very good antique show in Baltimore, Maryland in March. The shotshells seem to be a bit more difficult to find out about. Some people said I would do better selling the collection seperatly, but I don't know if I want the hassle.Certainly will post them here if that is the route I go. This site offers a treasure of info to read, even though I have little knowledge to offer. Thanks to All

If you don't score those cases go on over to Saubier.com and post in the reloading and classified sections. last year I came up with an additional 100 or so G&H 22-3000 cases for a Dubeil R2 highwall I have and I believe you can probably come up with something even if it's reformed 25-20 cases which work just fine. Whatever you get just rmember to anneal them before forming them up as it will eliminate loss for you.
