Medicine Hat here is a scan from the 1980 FBW catalog of the Model "L" action.

Mike,

That is great information for anyone working on one of these actions.  Do you have a similar diagram for the Model J and K?  I have actions for both of those, and on the J have a completed one to copy, but could use the info for a Model K.  If you have one would you be so kind as to post it?

It is a very strong action, it is a full 1.47" thick and barrel thread diameter is 1 1/8" very large. What caliber did you want to build with it, should do 50-70 or 50-120 if you like pain with no problems, these actions were made of 4140 and heat treated to 35-40 Rc.
Very nice Heavy duty action.

I am planning a 50-90 on the FBW modle L and a 6.5 wildcat rimmed or a 30-40 Krag on the Feken High Wall

Medicine Hat the Model L should work just fine for the 50-70 or 50-90.

Hope some one else can help you out, I'm a metal guy and can screw up a piece of wood in no time flat Huh.
