BRC Actions #58 & #59

I received these two actions back from Michael Gouse today and was very pleased with his engraving. Less than three weeks since I sent him both actions. Ken

Beautiful workmanship, very nice indeed. I suspect the engraver will soon have a backlog of work.

Indeed. Too much for my tastes, but that's me and  doesn't take away a thing from the skill and beautiful workmanship.

Ken - Will those get case-color, grey or blue? Would be nice to see another pic once that work is done.

Thanks Harry and Glenn.
Al can do all three ways but I will go with color case. I have been asked for contact information for Michael.

Ken nice balance and absolutely gorgeous. I take it these are for your personnel use and if so congratulations. French Gray would really set off the engraving as both bluing and color case distracts / hides the engravers art work and it makes for a nice balance / not to much bling and it compliments the high grade wood.

You have a very nice rifle. Thanks for the positive words and for posting the picture. The French Gray does show well. I will have plenty of time to figure what to do in regards to finish. I do plan on keeping Borchards #57, 58 and 59. It is quite busy at Al's so when I go in I have little or no time for my SS projects. Of all things for the first time in 25 years I am building a bolt rifle with composite stock to test and market the BRC 30cal. in .308. The barrel will be fluted and have a muzzel brake. I hope I am not slipping to the dark side. Ken

Thank you for the compliments on the rifle Ken. It was sold a few years back to one of our own on this site and I at times regret selling it. The action and barrel were built by Ken Bresien with a left hand twist and it was the most consistent shooting rifle I have owned to date. Just prior to selling it I shot a 250 in four consecutive practice sessions a week apart. The engraving was by C Hunt Turner and it is something to behold and even though it was full coverage it was not at all over powering.
