Good Morin AMERICA, how are ya,
I am your native son,
I'm the train they call the City of New Orleans,
I'll be gone 500 miles before the day is done.

Life is what you make of it.  Dwelling on the negatives keeps one on the bad side, instead of rising above the bad side of life.   Wink

YOU'VE GOT TO ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE
ELIMINATE THE NEGATIVE
LATCH ON TO THE AFFIRMATIVE...

The old scouting motto "Be Prepared" always seemed like a good guide to follow.

Here's the fellow who wrote it, singing it the way he wrote it. Sure miss Steve.

Thanks Kermit for introducing me to Mr. Steve Goodman.  Up until this point I was unaware just who wrote the song "The City of New Orleans", but have been there many times and have enjoyed the antiquities there.

I thought that perhaps Arlo Guthrie may have originally written the words.  I need to find out more about Steve, .  .  .  he sounds quite a bit like Willie in this particular song.

Thanks again, much appreciated !

Arlo told the story--possibly somewhat enhanced, as is his style--of how Steve got him to listen to the song the first time. Also a chance to hear Arlo do a less folk-rockish version.
