These very accomplished late 19th and early 20th Century schuetzen "free rifle" competitors all had one thing in common with each other, .  .  .  .
E.F. Richardson from Lawrence, Mass. ; N.C. Nash, from boston, Mass. ; Major Charles W. Hinman ; O.M. Jewel ; J.B Fellows, Boston, Mass.; G.H. Wentworth, Dover, N.H. .  .  .what was it ?

They all, to a man, made the decision to compete in off-hand schuetzen competition with  MAYNARD rifle/s.

Source and Reference; The Rifle magazine, Volumes 1 and 2 in a series of articles entitled "America's Crack Rifle Shots" published by A.C. Gould & Co., Boston, Massachusetts 1885-86
