Speaking of spinning to even out lube..I have seen an old movie camera video from the 1930's international match between U.S. & Great Britan fired at camp Perry.  One rifleman can clearly be seen spinning bullet between lips before loading!

Sharps "Complete Guide" has a whole chapter on adding lube to jacketed bullets.  It was popular for a time & also credited for some of the 03 blow up's

Lubing jacketed goes away then comes back with Moly now falling out of favor.  These modern guns are a passing fad

The lube from the bullet tip is long gone before it leaves the barrel.  Combustion-heat-gases and the likes take care of that.  I shoot rimfire benchrest and the top name gunsmith who did my barrel only uses Eley  for 50 yds but says Lapua Midas plus is know for 100 yd competition. Richard
