Can someone identify this Lyman Sight ? Has patent date of June 25 95 on it. Someone on another site said it was a model 33 or 34. It was installed on a sporter Krag. I am going to try to install it on my "Buffalo gun". Any info would be welcome. Thanks !

Its' built for the Krag. Fairly expensive used better to sell it and get something suitable for your Buffalo gun. Intended for High velocity cartridge it has limited range of adjustment not going to work well on a large case single shot rifle, they need more crank

According to Lyman Catalog #21,  1933,  it appears to be No 34.  The pointers on the 33 & 34 point in different directions.  The 34 points toward the muzzle. The 33 does not have a windage knob and isn't windage adjustible.

Thanks for the info ! When I googled Lyman receiver sight number 34 I found a 1919 issue of Outing. The sight was listed in an ad for $5.00.

I don't know about $100. I bought my Lyman 57 on Ebay a 3 years ago for no more than $50. I never installed it because I didn't have the heart to drill my Krag. I later found a Redfield 75 (no drill) for $75 and about 6 mounths ago I tried to sell the 57 to a dealer and he wouldn't even make a offer on it. Anyone want it for $50?

That sight would be comparable to the Redfield 102 but, the 102 is also a no drill. I think I sold mine (that's what came on my Krag) for about $40.

Frank they have gone up, mostly due to Ebay listing them.

I bought two Redfield 75's this year for Lever Silhouette rifles. One not so good 68 other nice & near 100 dollars, good buy at that price.  That Krag Sight if somebody is looking for one is not an easy sight to find.  Of course lot of people looking for 75's since they are now allowed for CLA matches,  not sure how many are looking for 34's
