Dusty Rhodes has asked me to draw a 38 caliber, "Money" type bullet, that can be breech seated, fairly easy and to offer it as a NOE group buy.

As you can see, it's for .380 groove barrels but, it would also be available for .375 barrels. It will fully stabilize in a 16 twist barrel.

Sign up and/or ask questions about it, here.

Sign me up. I'll take one in the 0.376" base diameter. Looks like a terrific breech-seat bullet for my 38-50. Should also work on chickens & pigs with fixed ammo.

BTW - can NOE do a 38cal 2-cavity mold?

How much would the .376 bullet weigh if it were lengthened by one more grease grove and would it stabilize in a 15" twist?

SSShooter,
yes, I'm sure it can be 2 cav.

nuclearcricket,
It would be about 32 gr more. And there would be no problem in a 15 twist.

Looks more Postell than the Metford/Money bullet.  If you'really going to lengthen it, I would put it in the nose rather than the base.  Also, you might want to make the base band diameter on the smaller one .377 as many 38 barrels are .376. I do like the nose shape though. Bob

This is not too different than the Creedmoor tapered bullet I have for breech seating in my CPA.  Mine has smaller bands for a 0.376 groove, but it's by far the best bullet this rifle has ever seen.   I'm sure that bullet will work very well.

Thank you for your input, Bob.

The dimensions where specified by Dusty (Ian) but, with his permission, things might be able to be modified to get the required 10 buyers.

I just specified that it's a Money "type" bullet, I actually have the spec's to do a real Money bullet, from one of our forum members. Thank you, John. But, it would take some juggling to comform the nose to that.

Great.

For what it's worth, my 14" twist, 30" 38-56 would stabilize a 340gr  1.43" long Brooks bullet, but nothing longer/heavier. My 12" twist, 26" long 38-50 has no problem with the 365gr BACo Money bullet. What is the weight gain by removing to 1st GG?

Delete the GG (grease-groove) nearest the nose so only have four (4) GGs.

Some interest Frank, keep it going.

I have no issues with it becoming 340 - 360 grn.

I have the Pedersoli 1:12.

Yes,
It will work in a 16 twist.

$57.80, 1 cav alum.
$76.50, 1 cav brass.
