In addition Pat Wolf's web site showing the book she and her late husband, J.S. Wolf wrote on the .45/70 Springfield Rifle and Carbine may be of interest here:

This seems like an opportune time to ask about the site (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links); I was looking at their "U.s.a. Shooting Team Creedmoor Sharps". Their prices seem lower than Pedersoli but I don't know if there is any correlation with quality.

Thanks,
Richard

I hate to beat their drum, but Brownells Gun Parts Source List at (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) was my project since it's start, until I left there two years ago.  Lots of good information on it, though as Froggie says, YMMV.  Also, Caveat Emptor...it's worth every penny you pay for it!

I just found this on Facebook's annoying side bar ......I guess it's good for something.

It's a search engine for guns and related for sale in bunches of different forums.

SAAMI, the Sporting Arms & Ammunition Manufacturer's Institute, sets specs for currently produced ammo and chamber dimensions.  Their website for official drawings of both chambers and cartridges is (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links); This does not include obsolete cartridges for which official specifications never existed.

To quote from their website:

"The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute (SAAMI) is an association of the nation's leading manufacturers of firearms, ammunition and components. SAAMI was founded in 1926 at the request of the federal government and tasked with:

    * Creating and publishing industry standards for safety, interchangeability, reliability and quality
    * Coordinating technical data
    * Promoting safe and responsible firearms use"

Complete and free - Stevens, Maynard and other old catalogs on my website in .pdf format.  Because old catalogs are for research, not profit.
Don't pay someone for a photo copy.
Will be scanning others I have in my collection and adding to the site in the future.
