Thread Pitch - Anschutz 18 mm Foresights

I'm thinking about building a tube sight - one that includes both the front and rear apertures.

The first choice for the front is an Anschutz foresight.  The thread diameter is 18 mm but I'm stumped as to the pitch.  Taps are readily available for 18m x 1.5 threads but the Anschutz foresight seems to have much finer threads.

Does anyone know the pitch (metric) for these 18 mm Anschutz sights.

Thanks

Thank you.

I've found only one place in the USA so far that lists an M18 x 0.5 tap.  That's ICS Cutting Tools in Casco, WI. icscuttingtools.com.

What is the diameter of the inserts? Are they made like the Olympic, with a cross bar?

Hi.

Anschutz foresights come in 18 or 22 mm size and can be had with clear, crossbar, or 4-bar inserts or a variable aperture.  I've not measured the diameter of the inserts used on the 18 mm Anschutz sight currently installed on my iron sight rifle; it could be 18 mm.

The set-up I have now is a Freeland tube sight at the breech end and the Anschutz at the muzzle.  What I plan to do is use the Unertl mounts from the Freeland sight and build a one inch, one-piece tube sight.

Thank you.

One of frequent contributors to this site also pm'd with the name of another company that sells M18 x .5 taps.  I'm about to start calling around to see if those that advertise have them in stock.
