Have to ask. Is anyone else having trouble with the forum being extremely slow to respond? Maybe it is just my system, but does not seem to affect other websites.

Chuck,

It's intermittent. Sometimes when I try to go to another topic, it hangs, then when I hit refresh, nada.
Often it's faster for me to just close the page and then re-open the forum link when it's acting up.

Speed on the Internet itself can be faster one time then slower the next, depends on how many are using it at any given time.
Important business has priorities, bank transfers etc.
I assume the server Josh has is not top of the line due to costs, that can cause slowness.
Hard wire lines, fiber optic lines, microwave signals can also cause things.
Your computer can cause things, how much stuff is in it you don't know about, such as cookies, and who knows what else.
I guess a free service can't be top of the line, so I live with it.........

Hi guys,

I am aware of the slowness, and am working on resolving it. We had a hardware failure on the server not too long ago, and I ended up putting some older hardware in to get the server back up and running. Obviously the older hardware just isn't up to the task.

Josh,
We appreciate you keeping the forum running even if it means patching in hardware. As mentioned earlier, If donations for hardware would be helpful, I am sure there are several of us that would contribute.

There have been a couple major internet mega-server hack-attacks in europe over the past few weeks.  e-terrorism stuff that rippled through the whole world of linked servers.  Because of the spillover It also trickled down and slowed down almost all public server based systems here in the US as well.  I noticed slow downs on 4 or 5 different forums I belong to.
