Tom. I don't have a Grope transonic mold but. I'm familar with the shape of the nose. I dont believe my program will draw that shape..

I think it was named for Roland Groppe; I always enjoyed shooting with Rowland but I haven't seen him in many years.

Roland died about 10 years ago I believe.   He moved east to VA, I think.  Passed away shortly after the move.

My NOE copy of the 311284 casts 220gr out of old (real old) WW.  The NOE mould I have is a multi-cavity with both GC and PB versions.  I am shooting the PB from my Shiloh Sharps M74 in 30-40 Krag at about 1500 fps using 4198 and Garbe's Hi-temp lube mix.  About MOA at 100 for a dozen or so 5-shot groups with my Unertl 20X scope.

If true about Roland, I am saddened by the news. He had moved to upstate N.Y. quite some years ago. I asked John Louis about Roland not that long ago and he gave me his contact information, but have not followed up on trying to contact him. I hope the information is not true. I got to know Roland when he lived in Salinas CA. We would shoot at a rifle range at Laguna Seca on occasion. Perhaps someone here can confirm, hopefully to the contrary.
