DZ Arms

I found out, quite by accident, that DZ Arms is a mere 21 miles from my doorstep!  Shocked  Hepburns, while I may never ever be able to afford one, are top on my lust-list of single shot rifles.  Has anyone on the forum had them make a rifle for you, or can you give me any indication as to their expertise in the field of custom single-shot rifles?  Any review would be quickly absorbed. (appreciated) Grin

Dan Zimmerman does an excellent job and has an excellent rep. He installed his extractor in my rimfire Low Wall and just bought a fly from him for the DST on my original Hepburn. Plan to sell my Low Wall and replace it with one of his .22 rimfire Hepburn rifles. Have shot with several folks who shoot his rifles and everyone I've spoken with is pleased. DanZ & RandyR both shot well with DZ Arms .22 rimfire & BPCR Hepburns this summer at Raton and you could see for yourself if the NRA ever gets around to actually posting the results. Only 21 miles...... go visit and see the rifles for yourself. DanZ is quite active in the local matches and he is more then willing to let you try out his rifles at the matches. The Hepburn is a wonderful rifle. Hope to have three before the end of 2015.

Thanks, I'll try and get over to his place sometime this week and drool!  You say he shoots "locally"...........would that be at the Tri-City Gun Club or Oklahoma City Gun Club?

Believe it is the OKC club that has both .22BPCR & BPCR silhouette matches, but check their schedules. There should be October matches, but have forgotten which weekend they are held.

Let us know what you think once you've visited DZ Arms and handled/shot a couple of his Hepburn rifles. The gunshop is mostly up-stairs from the main machine-shop floor. C. Sharps also makes a new Hepburn based on the original. Also know a couple of folks who shoot them, as well. As for quality, etc., flip a coin between the two from what I've seen.

Well I'll be sure and give him a review..........but it's unlikely I'll ever own one.  Just want to drool! Grin  Got to handle my cousin's Marlin Ballard .45-70 today.  Completely restored and a new barrel, Treebone grade 3 wood and case colored receiver.  Magnificent rifle.  Probably has a fortune tied up in it.

Just go north on I35 to Edmond exit, rt 66, turn right, go to N Anderson Rd in Arcadia, turn left, go to Sorgum Mill Rd, turn right at the gun club sign and the entrance is a about 200 yds on the left.
