This is the little brother to the German rifle. I had never seen one until this one show up in an auction in Michigan. Any information,  on this pistol I would to hear about it. I love the three rings on the end of the barrel. Thanks Bonner

Now, that's pretty dang cool! I never saw anything like it before.
I sure like to see a better (series) of photos of that front sight- the rings are neat, but the rest is interesting as well.
How's it shoot?

It looks like a early free pistol like is shot at 50 meters outdoors.  My brother shot much later versions of pistols like this in the '80s and '90s, on pistol derivations of Martini actions.
The forend and round part of the barrel looks very different than the finish on the rest of the pistol.  I suspect that this was once a full octagon barrel and this part was turned round to lighten it up.

48c looks sort of like yours.  From the 1911 "Alfa" Catalog.

End of barrel is like the one below it.  You could probably get a lot of variations back then.

That's a nice example. Also looking for one. The ones I find in local auctions tend to have too many issues.
