Unless you plan on soaking the brass in Brasso overnight, which no one would do, them it won't hurt the brass.  Ammonia will dissolve copper and zinc in brass but it's not at all a problem if Brasso is used to polish with a rag.    I find the polish residue hard to remove so I use other polishes.
