As nice as any original Marlin built Ballard, and with superior metal in the Cody built Ballards! A shame they are no longer available.

Taking nothing away from the quality of their product but I think they priced themselves out of business.......(My opinion)

Well I agree the prices were extremely high at the end. But there was much more than pricing involved in the failure after they sold in 2008. The Michigan company seemed to have a strange method of conducting business.

Anybody know who made the rear sight?  I initially thought it was MVA but now I'm sure it isn't.  The gold dots on the scale are paint marker and will come off easily.

That's a Ron Long tang sight.
The folks at Cody used them quite often.
I have one on my Cody #7 A-1 Long Range.
I think Ron used to work there.

That's right, of course it is.  Yes, he did work there.

My late friend Fred was a big Cody Ballard fan, and had 5 of them. All had Baldwin front and tang sights. They'd put whatever you wanted on them, or leave sights off and let you put your own on. The fee for them screwing sights in place was a little nutty.
The Schoyen model Cody Ballard I have has Baldwin midrange rear tang sight, and spirit level Baldwin globe front.

Somebody in the know should pen an article on the Cody Ballard. It would make a great article for the magazine.
Just sayin............

The rear sight is Remington Walker windgauge sight. Most likely made by Ron Long. They were made by others too, I think. Have been using one on my Ballard this season and really like it. Compact and does not interfere with the brim of my hat.

That is a lovely rifle!!!  I have a Cody 1 1/2 Hunter and except for the weight of the 45-2.6 barrel I like it.

My dad had a Cody Ballard 1 1/2 hunter in 32-40. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside with it.  Barrel was installed backwards. He bought it out of the showcase. It was beautiful though.
