.22 match ammo prices

I thought I'd post my recent research on match ammo pricing.  No doubt there are other suppliers that I missed but likely these are the most popular.  Also, from my research the brands/type are the most popular but there are some that a few sell that I did not include.  See the notes & comments at the bottom.

Bruno's has a good sale going on right now. I'd check that out.

Of course, you never know what your rifle will like until you have tried them all. Of the 28 different ones I have tried in the last 10 years in my Shilen barreled CPA the two best were some 1970's Peters Rifle Match which put 10 in 1 inch by .85 inch at 100 with some wind, and some Eley Biathlon Sport which put 15 in .7 by 1 inch with wind. The first is in limited supply and the second is no longer supplied. Eley Match did .9 by 1.1 (Eley Tenex was 1.6) and several various ones were in the 1.1 to 1.2 inch range. Different lots of some Eleys varied considerably. Old Federal Gold Medal 1.1; Federal 711B 1x2.1; Federal 510 1.1x1.5. The only guarantee is that your rifle will like what it decides it likes and if you stock up you'd better find the same batch. I think I have another 7 or 8 waiting to be tested.

The thread never disappeared on my end.

I can read it now but I had to do a search to find it & it only reappeared here when I posted a reply.

Easiest way to find a disappearing thread you have posted in is to go to your profile.  Look in your previous posts.  That usually works better than the search function.

Thanks,
Is there a reason the thread disappears?

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I'm always afraid to try numerous .22 match ammo, as the one that shoots best usually ends up being something I don't like the price on! Maybe a test of all the reasonably priced match ammo, and choose the best from the most reasonably priced!

After doing the analysis on prices that's my strategy with $10 as the max.

Wayne,
Re. Note 2.  I believe the Wolf MT and MExtra are also
made in the same factory as the Lapua and SK.
Probably the same relative priced items are the same in all three. Just different box printing.

There has been a lot of discussion about it from time to time.  I believe it remains a mysterious 21st century  digital anomaly on this site  Shocked
