If you can't find a "real" Farq. you might consider
a ruger No 1 as it is a "approximate" copy of the Farq.
And Cheaper .

Make that "much cheaper". Plus, you get wood and a barrel that be lined or bored & rifled.

I have a few no.1s and I have a few Farq's. I am looking for any actions anyone might have. Every now and then someone comes up with one of the old action casting kits and wants to sell it.

Fredd,
Check a recent f/s/t post here, "single shot's for sale"  the guys name is Reto Buehler, he has some Farqy's for sale, there's another fella on the the "Accurate" forum that goes by the name of Roscoe that has a Gibbs casting for sale.  As I remember I'll let you know of more, there are several out there.

Check out the post "FS 1878 Sharps Set"  it is on page 2 now.  I got a list of the action castings he has available.  Quick reply and reasonable prices, other than that I don't know anything about them.  David

I have a very rare A.O.Neidner Farquharson rifle in 22 LR that was probably built in the 1930's. I think I read somewhere that Neidner bought 20 or 30 actions from Gibbs and built the rifles; I'm not sure if all of them were rimfires but JoDo might know. I think it's probably worth between 4 and 5 thousand so it puts it out of the project realm.

Seems to me Steve Earle manufactured a smaller scale single shot copy of one of those Brit actions after he did the Wesson.  781.585.3929  His work is as good as it gets.
