16 years, and I still have trouble watching the tapes.

Yes, same here! We fly ours every holiday, but 9/11 is a must every year!

Yesterday History Channel ran all day an 8-hr special called "Road to 9/11" which I found mesmerizing because of the unbelievable twists & turns of that road, missed opportunities to prevent it, sickening incompetence of various Fed officials, like the US Amb. to Yemen.  That road began in 1990 with the assassination of a NYC Rabbi by a group of Arab terrorists--an "unsolved" murder for which no one was ever punished.

Show is being rebroadcast today starting at 2 pm EST, and I promise you it is WELL worth watching.

Saw the g'kids off to school and had a nagging feeling I was forgetting something I'd wanted to do afterward. Thanks for the nudge that made me realize I had forgotten to put out the flag.
It's up now and that notion is gone- too bad I needed a prompt, but glad I got it. Now, a few prayers of hope and remembrance to complete the process. Thanks guys!

I will never forget 9/11. Wife was watching the tv and woke me up. When the towers came down was an unforgetable sight I hope never to be repeated. Had two daughters in high school. Went there and got them and we all went home to be together. Parking lot was packed and some drivers (Louisiana) must have panicked as they were driving all over the grass trying to get back on the road. I know at least one muffler and tailpipe was left in the grass. What really brought it home was that the towers could be seen from the power plant (NYC) where I worked. Had retired a few years earlier and used to see the towers every day. Frank
