Any one know what happened to Larry Weiss and or his scope repair business - L&K Scope Repair? Besides modern, he worked on antique scopes. His web site no longer shows up on google.

This contact info was on another board in June of last year.

"If anyone else needs to contact L&K, their email address is:  lkscoperepair@hughes.net and phone is: 417/426-5041."

I have used ironsite in the past, and was very pleased with the work. These were more modern scopes, 6400 and 3200 Redfields. If I recall correctly the mans name was Mike Sextant, or Sexton, a nice man to deal with, but not sure if he does external adjustment scopes. I understand that his backlog is considerable. Another option is Optical Services in New Mexico. I know they do reticle changes and power increases, and some repair work, but not sure to what extent. They do work on most vintage external adjustment scopes, ie. STS, Unertl etc. I would just give them both a call.

L&K Scope repair has several items listed currently on eBay; scopes, parts and a Martini butt stock.  Here is his seller link

I wonder if they are liquidating their business.  They have a rubber eyecup mold system up for sale on eBay now for $250. Might be a good business opportunity.

I have a Redfield 12X fixed scope that has a fogged objective lens that needs to be cleaned. L&K refused to only clean that lens. He wanted to entirely go through my scope for $150 which is more than the scope is worth.
When I declined he then offered to buy my scope. I felt he was tring to get a nice scope cheap so he could resell it.
His site had a number of other scopes that he had sale at much higher than the going rates for used scopes. I had the impression he was pricing himself out of business.
For about the same money I could find an equivalent used Leupold with a lifetime warranty. His warranty was only 30 or 90 days.

I have a Lyman STS at Iron Sight Inc to have the front element re-laminated. They have a flat rate of $105 and a 3 month backlog. It is still a couple of months away from completion, but I will report the results when the scope gets returned.

Nice to see a list of various options for scope repair. It seemed to be very lacking for a long time!
