William Moore 2 groove

My 14 bore William Moore and a nice Mulie. Public land deer, left over tag, a little over a mile from home. I walked him up out of his bed and at about 50 yards away I put the ball at the junction of the neck and right shoulder, complete pass through exiting the right rear leg. The belted ball was seated on top of 90 grains of 2F Swiss resulting in massive trauma. Great hunt!

Well done. A great deer & a great rifle! Do you patch a belted ball?

I used a lubed felt wad on top of the powder and then a patched belted ball.

Thanks for that info. I've had my eye on a nice 16 ga belted ball percussion rifle here that's up for grabs. You are very lucky to have such a good hunting area so close to home. Enjoy!

Beautiful rifle and a nice five point buck.
Shall we say it is, at least, an adequate deer rifle. Completely through length wise

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!
