At my LGS today there was a Winder for $795. What do they usually go for?

Check gunbroker.
BUT, need to look at ones being actually bid on
rather than what people are floating and no bids

Decent Winders bring a bit more than that. Condition of bore is a major factor. If 22 LR (and 16" twist), would be worth a substantial increase. Also if Lyman peep sight is in operating shape. Many of them took a tumble and were bent or broken.

Is it the common coil spring, US marked cut down to low wall muskets in 22 short, contract rifles? Or one of the earlier rifle models? What sight is on it?

Don't really know. I just picked it up and looked at the price and put it down. It did have the over the top peep. It isn't something I would want, just curious about the pricing. I was more attracted to a British 12 bore muzzleloading double rifle;-)
