Maynard 38-50 Everlasting

So I was fortunate to pick up a nice Maynard #16 in an auction recently. It is all original from the receiver back. The barrel is a Larry Romano Rifle Co replacement, stamped LRRCO. I did a chamber cast and it seems to fit the 38-50 Maynard dimensions but the case mouth is a full 0.032" larger than the bore. Is there a parent case that I could use that might have a casewall thickness approaching 0.016"?
Or is RMC my only choice? Is the 38-50 Ballard everlasting going to be a close enough match if I could find a couple of those?
Thanks for any assistance.
Mike

hello Mike ...

You may be able to start with .38-55 Basic Brass and cut it to the correct length.

Why not contact Romano and ask if they have any records on your barrel and what they chambered it for when they made it?  They might have info on a brass source too?

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't quite reached my "Expiry" date yet ...

If you look on Larry's website you can catch him by phone.  If you have difficulty finding his info, drop me a PM.  I see him a couple of times a year and shoot one of his percussion Maynards, so I keep his contact information available.

I used Starline 39-55 brass trimmed down in my Ballard without difficulty.
