Ideal 311281 stop ring

It's interesting that in all the documentation I didn't see this bullet being  listed as a sto ring but I dug mine out and cast a few and realized it is. My alloy is indoor shooting range and fairly soft. The nose is .298 stop ring is .320 and the rear bands are .310.

I played with the stop ring concept A few years ago and never found an advantage to it in my 30 calibers. I even had a couple of standard Lyman designs made with an added stop ring by Erik Olin.

Anyway I thought I'd post a picture of it with the information in case anybody runs across one they  know what it is.

I sure would have liked to try that one in my long-gone .30 Wasp Imp.

Mine didn't fare too well with any of the cast loads I tried, but it was a very nice thing with middle weights of jacketed.
