Wanted, short pieces of octagon barrel
Nov 8th, 2019 at 1:23pm
Print Post
I have two single action cowboy revolvers that I want to have octagon barrels.
Im looking for two pieces of octagon barrel, 5 in length,  .401 bore if possible as they will be 38-40 caliber.
Otherwise any octagon barrel pieces that I can bore and line with .401 liners.
What do you have and how much do you want for them.
Please email me at rvb100@comcast.net

Thanks

Well, it appears that TJ barrel liners are 7/8OD (.875)

I need a barrel across the flats of .750

Would I be able to machine the barrel blank to octagon within these dimensions?

Here ya go! You can do the math. Knowing how to get the answer is better than just knowing the answer.

GREAT! That works out to a barrel of .810.....Just about perfect!

Disregard my request for a couple pieces of octagonal barrel

I can order a foot of 38-40 barrel liner from Track of the Wolf....

Thanks Again

7/8" is DOM tubing. If that means *welded* tube I'm not sure I'd want to use it as a barrel. I'd check that its 'seamless' first.

I looked at Green Mountain site and didn't see that. That changes things. Thanks. I'll order two of them.
