Neat video. Made me go and scoop a bowl of ice cream, just to watch it do the same as the steel, peeling off the top. Well, I guess I better eat it now.

You Boyz don't have to convince me the bevel is a vent. This is what I said  Cheesy

JL, That would be a vent, would it not?

All my molds have vent lines, not the bevel. That is the way they were made.  Years ago I would occasionally leave the mold too lose or have it too hot and have the vents whisker on a bullet.  That hasn't happened for years.  I'm fairly sure controlling the mold temp within a few degrees probably did more to eliminate whiskers than any thing else.

Anyway, I'm not going to file the lines off and bevel the top.   My bullets will be slightly oval  Shocked

I break the parting line edge on top of the mold by just a few thousandths on all the molds I use. I use a wide flat diamond hone.

I might just try that to see if it takes that last +/- .2 gr with 85% +/- .1 gr down to .05 gr  Undecided

No more excuses for not getting all 250s is it works  Cheesy

Bob, if you look close you may find that many of your vent lines are blocked by BUE, crud or lead.

OK thank you.  I don't like vent lines.  I have an RCBS 40cal mould I spent a lot of time filling in those damn vent lines with grafite mould prep before I could cast a bullet without fins.  I will not tolerate fins!

I'll take a look with a magnifying glass.  I see something in one once in a while.  I normally don't cast fins. I hate 'em  Sad
