Not photos but paintings.  Many of these you may have already seen but there are some fun looking old shoots going on here...

If a waffle falls over on a breakfast table and no one is there to hear it, did the waffle make a sound?

Thank you for posting images of those paintings. They provide a good overview of how the old matches were conducted.
Great stuff Smiley

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

Looks like they had a lot of fun at the old matches before we became stiff and politically correct. What a welcome relief it would be to have such matches today.

In Germany today they still know how to have fun. Here is a scene in the restaurant at a shooting club at Bergen. Out of the many pictures I took when there this is my favorite when it comes to shooters. Many waiting for their turn to shoot.

Good photo Joe. Those folks in the bar look like they are putting the fest in Schuetzenfest. Smiley

The atmosphere in the shooting clubs is the best and most interesting. Many honor targets and momentos adorn the places. Record targets and trophys. No plastics but warm romantic wood everywhere.

In every painting posted here, a scorer boy is standing downrange near the butts. Oh heavens if we tried that here today! We would be in some trouble!

Two clubs here are Butte and a shooting club at Tacoma where they have a full blown restaurant with bar are the closest I've ever seen to the places in Bavaria and Austria. Tacoma Sportsmen's Club.    (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Below, Innsbruck match where two youngsters are captured sitting on a hillside next to the range during the match. And picture from the shooting house overlooking Innsbruck.

They are behind the firing line. Butts are to their backs, if you know what I mean.   Undecided
