Lyman has replacement pilots-#37 for .375 or # 38 for 38-55 Etc.

Arnie
I you have access to a small lathe just make your own. Then you can make adjustments in diameter as needed for sized or un sized brass.  Harden them and put a nice polish on. Being cheap, I have made most of mine.

Thanks, KW,
I seem to no longer have access to a lathe.
Maybe I can renew an old friendship, though.
So, currently would be better off to buy the pilot.

I did some looking online, Arnie.  Seems like this size is made of Unobtainium, the most common element in the universe.  I think I have some .375" drill rod in the shop, if so, I'll try and knock one out for you in the next few days.

David,
I cannot thank you enough for this.
I, too had checked out my distributors, and Lyman
They seem to have discontinued the 375 size.
Are you copying one you have for diameter?
I will be doing 38-50 brass fire formed from 30-40 Krag brass.
eventual FF case I.D. will be 0.377- 0.379" or adjusted to that I.D. with a 0.379 expanding plug before I do the outside neck turning
I will PM you my address.
Thanks again.

Glad to see David will fix you up. Its great to see people helping each other out here. If for some reason he can't, I can make one for you too. Coincidentally, I needed one yesterday for my .25 Stevens cases. In this case I made one at .240" for my Forster trimmer. Made from cold rolled steel, hardened with Kasenite. I usually use a Lyman Universal, but it had a hard time with the rims. So the Forster was called up to active duty  Smiley

I have made mine out of 12L14 but I have never found a need to have a hardened one with brass being the softer of the two. Has anyone here actually worn one out if so I might need to change my own approach.

I've never worn one out. I only hardened it so the set screw wouldn't dig in and cause it to be stuck.

38Cal/David,
I again thank you for your generous offer to make a pilot for me.
Joe Do has offered to send me a Lyman 375 trimmer pilot.
I accepted his generous offer AND I thank Joe Do, too.
I hope that I can pass along favors like this to those in need.

Glad you found one! I hadn't gotten out to the shop yet to look for my raw material.
