Don't know, but think that is a Winchester collectors dream rifle.

It sure was a dream for me when I found it. It has been around since 1905 and shows some wear and pitting. The bore is very good and I really like the fancy wood and the smooth shotgun butt plate. Now I just need to get some thin rim 450 NE brass and more reloading data and I will be set to take it out for a few shots.

For converting Old Western Scrounger berdan cases ( formed from CBC brass shotshells) for a 577/450 Martini I had,
I bored out the primer pockets to fit 25 auto pistol cases.
slightly shortened the pistol cases, seated them into the brass, then with a tapered punch, flared the 25 auto case mouths so as to keep them in the brass.
worked for me nicely for black powder loads I was shooting.
Since then, Magtech has offered the various uncommon gauges of brass shotshells with LP Boxer primer pockets.

An interesting thing about my 45 Eley high wall, pictured above, is that it does not have British proof marks. The other ones I have found have British proof marks. Not sure if the lack of British proof marks adds or detracts from the value of this gun.

It may be worth your while to see if that rifle letters at the Cody Museum.  It looks like the sling swivels are special order and the sling may even be original with the hook system. Same with the wood.

Gordy, that's a great HW and looks to be in real nice condition, certainly a Winchester SS collector's dream, nice find. You are going to have some fun with that one. I really like the dark wood and the sling eyes are always a bonus. They were are a special order feature. Don't worry too much about the lack of British proof marks, doesn't detract at all, just means it probably stayed in the USA (which more than likely accounts for the great condition).
You shouldn't have too many problems getting it to shoot once you locate cases that fit.
Thanks for the photos.

I did check with the Cody Museum and this gun will letter as 45 Eley, Shotgun Butt, 30" Round barrel, and plain trigger. The sights are listed as Flat-Top Sporting rear and Lyman front. My gun has a Winchester 34 Express rear sight. The important features will letter. The fancy wood, the swivel eyes and the tang sight were not mentioned in the Winchester records. I can hardly wait to get it shooting. The sling eyes were on the gun when I bought it. I added the sling hooks and old leather sling.
